In addition, Peritol inhibits histamine receptors. Therefore, it works as an Anti-histamine medication such as Piriton. Pertiol also causes drowsiness and helps to induce sleep. Anti-histamine indications are common cold, and allergies.

Peritol can cause weight gain due to its ability to increase appetite. In addition, using Peritol to induce appetite in a patient with an underlying disease (cancer) without investigating the cause for loss of appetite can be dangerous.
